Devil Hunter Contracts

A Devil Hunter contract is a supernatural agreement between a human and a devil. To form one, you must be playing as a human—devils and fiends can't make contracts. In exchange for a sacrifice, the devil grants you access to their abilities.

Think of Aki from Chainsaw Man. His contract with the Fox Devil let him summon its head to devour enemies. The same logic applies here. You get powerful combat abilities, but the devil gets something from you in return. It's a two-way street, and the devil always collects.

Sacrifices for a Devil Hunter contract fall into three categories. Understanding what each one actually costs you is critical before you sign on the dotted line.

1. RC (Regenerative Cells)

RC is a resource you can farm and regenerate. Sacrificing RC is the least punishing option—you'll recover it over time by consuming humans or farming specific materials. Contracts that ask for RC are generally safe bets for newer players.

Contracts that require RC:

1. Tomato Devil (10 RC)
2. Spider Devil (20 RC)
3. Ghost Devil (30 RC)
4. Blood Devil (50 RC + 5 Hearts)

2. Body Parts

This is where things get serious. Sacrificing a body part permanently affects your gameplay. Once it's gone, it's gone—unless you use a Devil Eraser to reset the contract.

Contracts that require body parts:

1. Justice Devil (Left Eye)
2. Punishment Devil (Right Arm)
3. Control Devil (Both Eyes)
4. Darkness Devil (Right Arm + 1 Year)

Think carefully before taking these. A missing arm or eye changes how you play the game.

3. Lifespan and Health

Sacrificing lifespan reduces your maximum health or your overall time before your character dies permanently. These contracts offer powerful abilities, but you're literally paying with your life.

Contracts that require lifespan:

1. Curse Devil (1 Year)
2. Future Devil (1 Year)
3. Darkness Devil (Right Arm + 1 Year)
4. Eternity Devil (3 Years)
5. Angel Devil (5 Years)
6. Gun Devil (10 Years)

Multiple contracts stack. If you sign with Curse and Angel, that's 6 years gone. Plan accordingly.

Best for Beginners

Fox Devil or Tomato Devil

1. Sacrifice: 20 Hearts or 10 RC (both farmable)
2. Why it's great: Low cost, no permanent penalties. Gets you familiar with the contract system without risking your character.

Best for Aggressive Playstyles

Fox Devil

1. Sacrifice: 20 Hearts
2. Why it's great: High burst AoE damage with a cheap, farmable cost. Perfect for players who want impact without permanent sacrifices.

Best for Defensive Playstyles

Future Devil

1. Sacrifice: 1 Year of Lifespan
2. Why it's great: Reveals enemy attack windows, making dodging and parrying significantly easier. A game-changer for boss fights.

Best for Sustain

Blood Devil

1. Sacrifice: 50 RC + 5 Hearts
2. Why it's great: Heals you for a percentage of damage dealt. Excellent for prolonged fights and end-game content.

Best for Specialists

Ghost Devil

1. Sacrifice: 30 RC
2. Why it's great: Fear-based abilities and mobility. No permanent sacrifice, strong crowd control.

Curse Devil

Contracts to Think Twice About

Punishment Devil (Right Arm), Justice Devil (Left Eye), and Control Devil (Both Eyes) offer strong abilities, but losing body parts is a permanent gameplay change. Only take these if you're building specifically around that sacrifice.

Gun Devil (10 Years) and Angel Devil (5 Years) have steep lifespan costs. Make sure you're committed to the build before signing.
