You've got a full roster. Six slots. And absolutely no idea who to actually put on your team.
Welcome to Anime Overload. The game throws a ton of units at you—pure DPS, support debuffers, cleanse units, farm units—but you can only bring six. Pick wrong, and you'll hit a wall in late-game modes. Pick right, and you'll cruise through challenges that leave others stuck for days.
This Anime Overload tier list breaks down every unit worth using. I've split them into DPS and Support/Debuff categories because they serve different roles. I've also included the best traits for each unit and some beginner-friendly options to get you started.

How This Anime Overload Tier List Works
A few things to know before we dive in:
- EVO versions only – I'm ranking the evolved versions of all units at their peak. Consider unevolved versions one or two tiers lower. For example, if Bald Hero (Super Serious) is S, then Bald Hero (Serious) is A, and base Bald Hero is B.
- Best Mythics to focus on – Sukuna and Bald Hero for hybrid DPS.
- Best beginner units – Inoomaki (great support), Yono (early air), Buls/Sunji (early burn DPS), and Jaken Hunter (Kid)/Ener (easy Legendaries that evolve into late-game units).
- Cleanse units – Easy-to-get units that remove status effects. Great for harder stages. Grab one.
S-Tier DPS
These are the best damage dealers in the game. Build around them.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Bald Hero (Super Serious) | Amazing beginner unit that scales into late-game. Keep him at the front for constant attacks to proc his crit buffs. His ultimate destroys shields and stuns—great utility. | Overloaded |
Crimson Queen (Dominant) | Late-game meta DPS. Stacks damage buffs and gains massive crit when crowd-controlled. Deals heavy bleed damage with abilities and ultimate. The ultimate shreds bosses. | Overloaded |
Strongest Alien (Burst) | Harder to get than Mythics but deals a ton of damage with a nuke active. Situationally better than Crimson Queen due to hybrid attacks. Fills the same secondary role of nuke/boss killer. | Overloaded |
Sokona (Domain) | Meta hybrid unit that competes with Secrets after nerfs. Deals tons of AoE burst damage with both base abilities and ultimate. A great hybrid option to get ASAP. | Nullshot |
S-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
These units deal great damage while providing debuffs, crowd control, or other utility. Bring at least one or two.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Red Hair (Conqueror) | Tons of damage. Tons of stuns. Has auto-crits. Overall a meta unit. | Overloaded |
Goju (Unlimited) | Tons of utility—slows enemies, reduces their buffs, pierces shields. Ultimate is a massive AoE stun. Plus, great AoE damage for clearing crowds. | Voidborn |
Ener (Lightning) | Tons of AoE damage and stuns to stall enemies. Great self-buffs as he progresses his Vari Bar. At max bar, you get an AoE stun similar to Goju. Excellent support. | Overloaded |
Greye (Frost) | One of the better ground DPS units with meta support status effects. Use Voidborn instead of Overloaded because more copies let you spread the status effect further. | Voidborn |
A-Tier DPS
Solid damage dealers. Not quite S-tier, but they'll carry you through most content.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Kaitou (Scythe) | Even though Strongest Alien and Sukuna are better, Scythe is still competitive. Deals amazing bleed damage for bosses and has an execute ability for low-HP mobs. Best option is Scythe, then Trinity, then Hammer, then Gun. | Voidborn |
Jaken Hunter (Adult) | Jack of all trades with decent DPS and stuns. Leans more toward DPS due to massive damage with his second ability. Boss killer. | Overloaded |
Chain Man (Psychotic) | After buffs and nerfs, Chain Man is actually pretty strong. His rapid damage increases in a group make him excellent for crowd control. | Nullshot or Overloaded |
A-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
Solid utility units that also deal respectable damage.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Susano (Indra) | The stunning aura is really strong, making Susano an excellent support. Plus, you get a strong air option. DPS is a bit weaker than S-tier, so he lands in A. | Voidborn or Overloaded |
Kid Psychic (99%) | Gains buffs each wave and when nearby enemies get crowd-controlled. Once fully stacked, becomes a great DPS/support unit. Support power mainly comes from Repel effects to stall enemies. | Voidborn |
Death Surgeon (Operation) | Not a priority to rush evolving, but has nice supporting options with slow. A decent support/ground DPS mix. | Voidborn |
B-Tier DPS
Situational or slightly weaker options. Fine if you don't have higher-tier units.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Devil Knight (Berserk) | Great hybrid DPS alternative to higher tiers. Would be higher if he stacked his ability faster and had a higher chance for double attacks. A bit situational since you need Physical/Dark/True units to benefit from his AoE damage buff. | Overloaded |
Maine (Final Push) | Probably one of the weaker hybrid units DPS-wise, but still a hybrid—the most useful unit type. | Overloaded |
B-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
Decent utility units. Not amazing, but they'll get the job done.
Unit | Ranking Explanation | Best Trait |
Imperial Silver (Prime) | A decent mix of DPS and Repel for stalling enemies. Slightly weaker than A-tier, but the best B-tier. Nice bonus for farming evolve materials due to increased drop chance. | Voidborn |
Kaitou (Hammer) | A decent DPS/support mix with stuns. Scythe and Trinity deal better DPS though. | Voidborn |
Sosoke (RS) | Decent utility for both ground damage and stalling enemies. Slows with trance. Also gets damage amplification for all your units when Sosoke marks enemies with dark flame. Overall good support unit. | Voidborn |
Yono (Spirit) | Great beginner air unit to rush and evolve. A mix of DPS and slowing. | Voidborn |
C-Tier DPS
Beginner-friendly or niche options. Replace them as soon as you pull something better.
Unit | Ranking Explanation |
Natso (Fire & Lightning) | Decent burn damage, but there are better options. Sometimes useful for elemental weaknesses and burn synergy. |
Vegetable (Almighty) | A weaker version of Kaitou's Scythe execute. Decent for beginners as long as you keep him toward the front for constant attacks. |
Tojee | Not the most powerful raw DPS, but quick access to shield breaking—incredibly useful in certain stages. |

Anime Overload FAQ
Q: How do I level up my profile and units fast?
A: The best way to level up your profile is to progress through story mode. The best way to level up units is by feeding them food, which you can farm in the Fishman Raid.
Q: How do I get Kite / Kaitou?
A: Kaitou is available in the Guild Shop.
Q: How do I use mounts?
A: Press the T button.
Q: How do I redeem codes?
A: Go to News (green icon) in the bottom left, then click on Codes in the bottom right. Need active codes? Check our Anime Overload codes guide.
Q: What's the best team setup?
A: Bring at least one or two Debuff DPS units. They deal great damage while providing supporting effects. Don't just stack pure DPS—you'll struggle in late-game modes without utility.
Q: Should I focus on Mythics or Secrets?
A: Both are good, but some Mythics (like Sukuna and Bald Hero) are easier to get and still perform at the highest level. Don't ignore them just because they're not Secret rarity.
